Project Description

The effects of the Public Health Agency’s statement in March 2020 became brutally clear. Riddermark Bil sells about 10 cars per hour after lunch. On a normal day we are at a pace of 10 cars at 13:00, 20 at 14:00 and so on. Before the statement at about 14:00 on the afternoon of March 10-12, we were in line with our growth objective at +20 cars sold. After the statement, we sold 3 cars for the rest of the day until 19:00… Sales came to a brutal halt. Growth came to a brutal halt… or did it?

In response to the effects of the burning Corona crisis that hit Sweden in March 2020, I built up Riddermark Bil’s national home deliveries. It took me about 10 days. The time pressure to find a solution to the lack of customers in store was significant.

Results:

  • Riddermark Bil became the first company in Sweden with actual home delivery of used cars nationwide, as an alternative to traditional in-store sales.
  • By now home deliveries of cars take place all over the country and account for close to 1/x:th of the company’s total sales.
  • During the pandemic Home Deliveries accounted for close to XX% of all sales and XX% of all profit.
