Since its inception in 2008, Mestro has helped customers take control of their energy use, save energy and reduce their environmental impact.

By automatically downloading energy data to a in-house developed and innovative platform, they simplify the digital energy monitoring of all types of energy. Mestro’s tailor-made products can be used regardless of business or type of property and the visualization is automatically adapted for different screens.

Mestro is used today by the Nordic region’s most influential real estate companies, retail companies and hotel chains. In 2017, Mestro’s partners managed to reduce their energy use by 70 GWh, which corresponds to approximately the same total energy use as 2800 average villas!

I was engaged by Mestro as a consultant at first to increase sales and digital transformation. Later on I had the privilege to become co-owner of Mestro and a vital part of the team. During my time with Mestro I established a foothold in and opened up sales within the public sector, Sweden’s largest real estate owner. One of my observations was that as a company within digital real-tech, Mestro was in great need to implement a digital lead- and sales platform to take the role of thought leadership in a highly competitive market, AND to expand its market by establishing a foothold in the public sector.

The result came with new customers in both the private and public sector. The early adopter in public district heating was Mälarenergi. That set of expansion through direct procurement in a brand new (to Mestro) market. At the same time a cloud based CRM, digital quote and agreement software was implemented to increase the speed and hit rate in sales. A brand new, modern webpage was setup with leads generation, call2actions, heatmaps and visitor tracking and qualification. We also took the role as thought leader by implementing professional communication with the aid of ghostwriters online. The result was Mestro 2.0 and the thought leader now known as ”The Mestropolitan”.
